HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES


We are located on Industrial Park Road in the same building as the Rio Arriba County Sherriff and the District Attorney. Walk around the building to the street side. Our door is marked "Health and Human Services." Office hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

SERVICES THAT WE PROVIDE


The Rio Arriba Health and Human Services Department at the Health Commons is an innovative, state of the art, one-stop shop designed to meet all of your health care needs in one easy trip. The building is divided into three wings: a medical wing; a behavioral health wing; and a maternal child health wing. Rio Arriba Health and Human Services Department shares the space with El Centro Family Health (a primary care clinic), and the Espanola Public Health Office (serving mothers and infants).

Rio Arriba Case Management and Outreach Services-RACMOS provides motivational interviewing and case management for adult substance abuse including assistance accessing treatment services, housing, food, medical treatment, behavioral health treatment, and many other services. RACMOS provides outreach services to families and the general public. RACMOS also provides substance abuse treatment and case management for the jail DWI unit and provides services to inmates released from the jail. Amber Leichtle, Director.


Rio Arriba Maternal and Child Health Council-The Rio Arriba MCH council promotes childhood safety through special events including bike rodeos, and presentations in the schools and to other groups. The MCH council distributes bike helmets, and car seats. The council coordinates the S.H.A.R.E. program, a monthly food distribution services of the Archdiocese of Denver. You may purchase packages through our office. There is no income requirement buy you must agree to volunteer your time in our community several hours per month to participate. The MCH sponsors blood drives as well and is focusing on reduction of childhood obesity. Jessica Salazar, Coordinator
